Joining the Namilyango Family

Namilyango College, established in 1902, is Uganda's oldest and most distinguished boys' secondary school. Our admission process is transparent, merit-based and designed to identify young men of character, academic promise and leadership potential.

We welcome applications from qualified candidates for our O-Level (S1) and A-Level (S5) programmes, as well as international students seeking a world-class African education.

How to Apply

The Admission Process

A simple, four-step journey from application to enrollment at Namilyango College.

Submit Application

Download and complete the application form. Submit it alongside all required supporting documents to the Admissions Office before the stated deadline.

 Deadline: Term 3, Previous Year
02

Entrance Examination

All applicants are required to sit for an entrance examination. The date and venue will be communicated to candidates upon receipt of a complete application.

Selection & Interview

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview with the admissions panel. The selection committee considers academic performance, character and potential.

Successful candidates receive official admission letters with full details on registration, fee payment and reporting date. The admission list is also published on this page.

Entry Requirements

Admission Requirements

Namilyango College accepts students through three pathways. Select your entry level below.

Academic Requirements

  • Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) result with a minimum aggregate of 4
  • First Grade in English and Mathematics (Grade 1 in both subjects)
  • Good conduct report from the previous school, signed by the head teacher

Supporting Documents

  • Original birth certificate or statutory declaration / affidavit of age
  • Four (4) recent passport-size photographs
  • Medical examination report from a recognised health facility
  • Completed and signed application form

Academic Requirements

  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a minimum of 8 passes
  • Credit 5 or better in English Language and Mathematics
  • Good conduct letter from your O-Level school Principal or Head Teacher
  • Relevant passes in subjects related to your intended A-Level combination

Supporting Documents

  • Original birth certificate or affidavit of age
  • Four (4) recent passport-size photographs
  • Medical report from a recognised health facility
  • Completed and signed application form

 A-Level Programme

 International Students

Namilyango College welcomes students from across East Africa and the wider international community. International applicants must present qualifications equivalent to those required for Ugandan students.

  • Equivalent O-Level or A-Level qualifications from your home country's education system
  • Valid student visa / study permit issued by the Government of Uganda
  • Valid passport with at least 12 months remaining before expiry
  • Official school transcripts with certified English translation (if applicable)
  • Medical insurance cover and health examination report
  • Letter from parent or guardian residing in Uganda (or valid guardian declaration)

All fees are in Uganda Shillings (UGX). Fees are subject to annual review. Boarding and other charges are included in the above figures.

Payment Information: Fees are payable by bank transfer or at the School Bursar's office. Full bank details are provided in the official admission package. A 5% discount is offered to families who pay the full annual fee at the time of registration. For payment plans or bursary inquiries, contact the Bursar's office directly.
